New hydrostatic drive solution for self-propelled agricultural machines

AgDrive, an efficient complete solution from Bosch Rexroth which includes BODAS Software, opens up a wide range of functions for self-propelled agricultural machines with a hydrostatic multi-motor drive

  • Complete package with travel drive components and BODAS Software including functional safety
  • Straightforward parameterization, upgrades and customization
  • Try it First: Try BODAS Software with minimal investment risk

With the hydrostatic AgDrive travel drive solution for self-propelled agricultural machines, Bosch Rexroth presents a new complete package comprising software and drive components. It enables manufacturers of off-highway vehicles to build travel drives in accordance with the ISO 25119 standard in a particularly economical manner. Manufacturers can choose from two software versions: The easily parameterizable ASrun software or the individually adaptable and expandable ASopen software from the BODAS modular system. The software which is available in the Try it First program can be downloaded and used on a trial basis free of charge. The functional highlights of the travel drive solution include Fulldrive Control and Dynamic Traction Force Distribution.

The demands as regards self-propelled agricultural machines with hydrostatic multi-motor drives are growing all the time. In order to ensure the necessary performance and productivity, the market expects an ever wider range of functions. In the case of machines with a number of hydraulic motors, this automatically results in a complex design. This applies in particular to software development which has to meet exacting safety requirements at the same time.

The complete AgDrive solution enables machine manufacturers to implement future-proof travel drives without lengthy and costly development work on the basis of high-end drive components and multifunctional software modules which are easy to apply and expand. The most important new features include Fulldrive Control – a cruise control system with braking function – and Dynamic Traction Force Distribution. AgDrive also offers advanced functions such as High Level Braking (HLB), drive-slip control (ASR) and an electro-hydraulic anti-lock braking system (ABS).

Thanks to “Try it First”, manufacturers can download the BODAS AgDrive software in advance, add extra functions, adapt it to their own needs, test it and ultimately only adopt what they actually use.

Less application work in spite of complex functions with cutting-edge features

The BODAS AgDrive software with Rexroth’s new BODAS RC/40 control units significantly reduces the application work for machine manufacturers looking to individually customize their systems. As a result, complex functions for mobile machines can be implemented easily and flexibly. The ASrun software version enables customers to parameterize the travel drive functions according to their specific requirements without development work and with little effort. The ASopen version also allows existing functions for individually controlling the travel drive components to be expanded.

The BODAS AgDrive software was developed taking into account the ISO 25119 safety standard, so that if the safety functions are suitable for the intended use, no additional development work is required to meet the safety-related specifications. This means that the mobile machine can be used immediately once the software has been parameterized. If necessary, the software can also be configured to meet the requirements of ISO 13849 and ISO 19014.
