Rexroth ROKIT Navigator – Your future-proof navigation software for AGV/AMR

The VDA 5050 compatible ROKIT Navigator from Bosch Rexroth is your innovative and future-proof solution for precise and efficient motion planning for a wide range of mobile robots and vehicle kinematics. The navigation software reliably guides your automated guided vehicles (AGVs) or autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) from A to B and ensures comprehensible, natural driving behavior – even in dynamic, complex and confined environments. With functions such as fast and high-precision docking at transfer stations and optional obstacle avoidance, the ROKIT Navigator takes your logistics to a new level.

Future-proof with VDA 5050

The ROKIT Navigator is fully compatible with VDA 5050-capable fleet management systems. The intelligent implementation of the VDA 5050 standard enables particularly fast, simple integration and commissioning – without adapters or additional interfaces. This minimizes your development effort and prepares you optimally for future challenges.

Open interfaces for flexible integration

Thanks to its modular and open architecture, the navigation software for mobile robots adapts seamlessly to a wide range of requirements – from use with the ROKIT Locator or other advanced localization solutions to various vehicle kinematics. Open interfaces and the intuitive aXessor user interface minimize the parameterization effort for different vehicle types and enable the flexible integration of additional technologies.

A modular toolkit for AGV/AMR

Combine the ROKIT Navigator with the ROKIT Locator for a powerful solution for precise localization and efficient navigation of your mobile robots. With ROKIT – The Robotics Kit and the automation system ctrlX AUTOMATION, you benefit from modular software and hardware solutions that you can combine with each other as well as with third-party solutions according to your needs. The ROKIT Navigator is not only available as a modular Docker container solution, but also as an app for the innovative, Linux-based operating system ctrlX OS – a central component of ctrlX AUTOMATION. As an open system solution, the navigation software can be easily integrated into the vehicle control (ctrlX CORE) and safety control (ctrlX SAFETY), since all the information required for the other software components is available in the system via the ctrlX Data Layer.

Overview of functions

Functions and features of the navigation software

VDA 5050 interface – fast, efficient, expandable: Support of the VDA 5050 specification between vehicle and fleet management

Fast integration and setup: Tool-supported offline calibration of system parameters using the user-friendly aXessor interface

Open, adaptable system: No “black box” structures, but open interfaces that allow easy, flexible integration and expansion

Modern software deployment approach: Deployment in the form of Docker containers or as app for ctrlX OS – for maximum flexibility and scalability

Navigation in cramped spaces: Safe vehicle maneuvers with minimal space requirements

Fast and high-precision docking: Shorter cycle times and lower error rates thanks to optimized speed and precision

Support of different drive types: i.e. Ackermann, differential drive, omnidirectional drive

Virtual Line Following: Robust feature that allows to define flexible routes without physical line markings

Optional obstacle avoidance: Takes objects in the driving path into account and optionally avoids them within the permitted avoidance area

Compliance with external safety requirements: Ensures smooth integration of safety control into vehicle motion planning

Consideration of acceleration restrictions: Execution of motion planning takes into account compliance with the maximum longitudinal or lateral acceleration.

Consideration of vehicle and load contour: Prevents vehicle or load collision with obstacles

Consideration of orientation restrictions: Depending on the drive type, enables motion sequences independent of the vehicle orientation
